Current AM/PM Routines

Good morning! It's gonna be 25°C out there later so I'm very excited to see some sun.

I've slept and thought about this for the past couple of days and I think I wanna start a pilot program/service to customize skincare routines! I'm currently helping 3 other girls out so if their skin actually improve, then I'll dare to take the next step cause what if 我越帮越忙?? Would anyone actually be interested in this?

Current working products! I don't use all 21 products each time lah. Mostly around 12 each time and they all go on different parts. So don't freak out yet. I'm not bringing on a 30-step routine hahahaha but why not right? Almost there already.

I feel like that's all I'm talking about these days. Are y'all sick of me yet. Plz don't be hahaha I have new makeup and dayrebrides updates coming 🙆🏻 Why is the Carli's preorder taking SO LONG!

*** I have gotten quite a few questions regarding the use of certain products in certain steps cause of the labels - essence/serum/ampoules. The terms are used quite interchangeably there so it's really quite confusing. Plus Korean likes to give DAMN LONG NAMES, u actually have to stop and take a breath.

I like to classify Essence/Serum/Ampoules in one category. They normally have powerful ingredients and can boost the skin, be it hydrating, brightening or even anti-aging properties.

All of those differ from a FIRST Essence. A First Essence is usually the first step (if u don't use actives) after cleansing. It's normally in light liquid consistency (think SKII FTE or Estée Lauder Microessence) and resembles a toner. It has brightening, hydrating and skin-renewing properties as well.

I don't think a First Essence is 100% necessary tho. It really depends on ur skin type. I'm extra. I like using tons of shit on ma'facez hahahaha

A picture is worth a thousand words hahahaha. This is about as simple as I can condense it into, without leaving out anything.

This is NOT 100% necessary. I'm just listing out ALL the steps I could think of.

Sometimes, if I feel like it, I go with 2 serums, or I skip my first essence, or too lazy to sheet mask, or layer extra sleeping mask etc. It just depends on skin + mood haha

I feel like I must emphasize this. It's what ur skin needs. Use what ur skin needs. If I have normal glowy skin like my SIL, trust me, my steps would be maybe, 3. So, go with what ur skin needs. U don't hafta force it to take in stuff if it doesn't want it. More is more lah, but sometimes, less is also more?? Does that make sense. It made more sense in my head now that I'm seeing it in words. Sorry, running on such a caffeine-high right now.

My AM routine takes me about max. 25 mins including waiting time.

1. Cleanser: Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Cleanser
2. pH-adjusting toner: Mizon AHA/BHA toner 🔺🔺🔺
3. Actives:
• CNP Invisible Peeling Boost (whole)
• LRP Effaclar K (tzone)
🕛15 mins wait time 🕒
4. First Essence: Holysnails Snowbang Essence
5. Hydrating Tonet: Laneige Skin Refiner - moisture
6. Serum: Laneige White Dew Original Ampoule Essence
7. Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream
8. Hada Labo UV Air SPF 50

🔺🔺🔺 Healthy skin has a pH of 5.5 which is acidic When we wash our face with water (pH 7), it alters our skin's pH and a few minutes is needed for the skin to go back to normal. Instead of waiting for my skin pH to decrease by itself, I use a toner that has a pH of about 4-5 to bring my skin's pH down. This is NOT a necessary step. Again, I'm just very extra and I like to try all kind of skincare.

Write here...

My PM routine is definitely more time-consuming but it's my alone zen period so I like to just take my time after I shower to do all these.

I also (try and) throw in a sheet mask nightly and because our heater is on almost all the time, it gets really drying at night.

My night routine easily takes an hour but almost 1/2 of it is waiting time lah. So I just do stuff while shitz is on my face hahahaha

1. 1st cleanser: Garnier Micellar Water
2. 2nd cleanser: Neutrogena Naturals Purifying 3 3. Facial Cleanser + Foreo Mini
4. pH-adjusting toner: Mizon AHA/BHA Toner
5. Actives
• CNP Invisible Peeling Boost (whole)
• LRP Effaclar K (tzone)
🕛15 mins wait time 🕒
6. First Essence: Holysnails Snowbang Essence
7. Hydrating Toner: Laneige Skin Refiner- moisture

8. Serum: Laneige White Dew Original Ampoule Essence
9. Sheet mask (pat leftover serum in)
10. Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid
11. Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream

Clogged pores/blackheads/whiteheads/blemishes

I've talked about it here so I won't rehash it but just a few notes:

• acids such as BHA are pH-dependent so it goes on clean bare skin so as not to alter the pH
• let ur acids work 15 - 20 minutes in between before applying other acids/products. This explanation is too long to go into again. So I won't okay but I promise u it works.
• BHA and AHA are different acids and target diff problems altogether.

I briefly reviewed the Dr Wu Daily Renewal Serum with Mandelic Acid here

This is one product I'm pretty okay with recommending to people with pigmentation issues or seeking an AHA cause it's Mandelic Acid is way more gentle than regular AHAs. Despite that, a patch test is still advised okay and actives MIGHT break u out so if that happens for 2-4 weeks when u first use an active, it's rather normal.

However, I have definitely heard better reviews for the INTENSIVE Renewal Serum compared to the DAILY one for pigmentation issues.

🔺🔺🔺 AHA causes photosensitivity in ur skin for up to a week. That means that if u use AHA and skip the sunblock, u will be causing more pigmentation to happen!! So SUNBLOCK SUNBLOCK SUNBLOCK

Uneven Skin Tone

I am in love with several from the  Laneige White Plus Renew range here and here and White Dew Original Ampoulr Essence you can read about here.

These aren't the same as first essence and I use them in the serum step. It's packed with properties that will help to hydrate and even out skin tone. My skin has definitely become more translucent and brighter with continued use of these two. I love them to death.

I'm trying out Holysnails Shark Sauce currently but I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to smth in it.

Dry/Flaky yet Oily Skin

If ur skin is dry and flaky, yet still oily to the touch (esp. during mid day), your skin might be dehydrated instead of just dry.

My cheeks were always like this and I never knew that water was just what it needed. A balanced skin has 1:1 ratio of water and oil so if u have flakiness but yet are still producing oil, it could be that ur skin needs plenty of moisturization. I'm not talking about heavy creams and oils, but water!

Not only drinking enough water a day, but supplementing thru sheet masks! Sheet masks are an amazing way to boost hydration level.

I've showed the changes in my skin when I started daily sheet masking here and I must say, no ragrats.

I've been measuring my skin's hydration level and it has been hovering around 37% +\- these days and I've noticed that they haven't been oily at all. They have a soft bounce to it and it feels hydrated and plump.

I think I pretty much addressed a few main issues I've been getting questions about so hope this clears some queries.

The routines I show about is pretty much what I use daily, plus/minus serum or sheet mask here and there. I don't really have a fixed routine anymore but it follows those steps basically
