Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence Review

Yes, I’m mad about honey and propolis.

I bought this Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis a couple of weeks back and I’m already down to nearly half bottle. It has a dropper so I really appreciate that.

Now, honey and propolis and even Royal jelly are diff ingredients. I found a journal article on them and it was quite useful so let me see if I can summarize the points.

Honey is a sweet liquid processed by the honey bee.

Propolis is the resinous mixture that honey bees produce by mixing saliva and beeswax with exudate gathered from tree buds, sap flows, etc. and

Royal jelly, is a form of gland secretion from the worker bees & is also known as a “superfood” that is solely consumed by the queen bee.

In honey, propolis, and royal jelly, phenolic compounds are commonly present as flavonoids and these contribute to their properties of being antioxidant, antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antifungal & wound healing,

Scientific documentation of the wound-healing capabilities of honey validates its efficacy as a promoter of wound repair and an antimicrobial agent. Honey not only aids in the repair but also the growth of healthy cells for better recovery!

Propolis is used in skin care products and has antiallergy, anti-inflammation, antimicrobial properties, and promote collagen synthesis. A study on done on patients suffering from acne using ethanolic extract propolis showed its high efficacy in the treatment of acne vulgaris.

Royal jelly enhances wound-healing activity. It exhibited protective action on human skin against ultraviolet B-induced photoaging by promoting collagen production.

Basically, if you’re not allergic to bees or the by-products, I highly recommend just including them in your routine.

I have finished my regular CNP Propolis serum but I’m not repurchasing cause that only has 20% conc of propolis.

I’m almost done with my LJH one and that has 50% but I’m also not repurchasing cause...

The Pure Heals (available in Watsons or Redmart) one I’ve managed to get has 90% conc.

Anymore and I have to breed my own beehives and that’s never gon happen cause I have trypophobia. I HATE beehives. Hate.

Now, I managed to find out that the Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence has 50% Black Bee Propolis extract, 20% Royal Jelly extract and 10% Royal Black Honey extract. The first 3 ingredients are that and I bought it immediately when I saw the list

I don’t mind the lesser % of Propolis since I want the Royal Jelly extract and the honey extract! ALL THREE cause I’m kiasu ok.

I also just add a drop or two of my Pure Heals Propolis Ampoule into it and use it altogether at the serum step!

Actives/Acids > First Essence/Hydrating Toner > Serum/Essence > Emulsion or Moisturizer

Now, this isn’t gonna magically show u results or give u perfect skin but it’s a GREAT GREAT GREAT ingredient that has preventive measures. Serums won’t be curative. You would still need acids and actives to treat actual problems.
