#Maskotd: Laneige Water Bank Double Gel Soothing Mask

Happy Suuuuuunday. Feels oddly good to be on the same time zone as everyone. Or at least, most of y'all haha

Is everyone having a wild Saturday night/Sunday morning lol. This is my version of 'wild' 😎

I'm supposed to do up the Vietnam itinerary today but I didn't. FML. I really need to start on it.

Introducing the Laneige Water Bank Double Gel Soothing Mask!

Wah omg I love Laneige's masks lah. I don't think I've had one that failed me or didn't perform? Their sleeping mask is my go-to when I need hydration and the Clear_C Advanced Effector sheet mask is like instant brightening on dull days.

I got two pieces of this Water Bank Double Gel Soothing Mask to try and I immediately used it when I got back.

It's a hydrogel mask and can u believe this is my first hydrogel one!! What have I been missing out on man.

Anyw, I didn't read up on ingredients or reviews cause I really wanted a first impression to share with y'all.

As u can see, it comes in two separate pieces and is clasped between two plastic sheets. But when I opened mine and reached for it, the top hydrogel piece was separated from the plastic piece already and I had a VERY hard time trying to open it up and place it on my face. Also, in the midst of it, I felt like I was losing a lot of the essence.

However, the lower half remained between the plastic sheets so it made my life a lot easier.

So just be abit careful when you opened up the package and note if the any of the gel pieces separated before u reach into it.

The mask is slightly big on my face as of most masks, but the adherence is really πŸ‘ŒπŸΌπŸ‘ŒπŸΌπŸ‘ŒπŸΌ. I get the hype over hydrogel pieces now cause the feel of it is really quite different.

I actually vigorously shakes my head just to see if it budged but it didn't. IDK why anyone would need to move their head around so much when u mask but in any case, if u need to, this mask doesn't move at all πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Throughout the 30mins, the cooling sensation on my face didn't disappear at all. The whole time I had this on, I was like, 'omg wah damn cold and shiok' LOL

I masked in the afternoon that day and btw, it's really damn hot in SG. (I am still really trying to get used to the heat. Perspiration EVERYWHERE. Tmi but realz)

I get red VERY easily under heat. My face is a tomato on most days and I was really hoping this will soothe some of the redness.

And it really did??? U can tell from my neck that the lighting is really close and my neck didn't change color lol. Yah only my face gets red.

I was so pleasantly surprised??? Like omg wow lah 😱😍

My skin remained very bright and calm the whole night but once the heat settled again the next day, all my redness came back, which was pretty much what I was expecting anyways.

I've come to accept tomato-red is the shade I would look like for the rest of my life in SG heat.

After seeing the effects, of course I had to go do some research on ingredients. I see a few that I've actually never seen before so a quick Google and some research later, I found some really interesting stuff:

Artemisia Princeps Extract - this has antioxidants properties and is good for age spots!

Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract - this stand out the most!! This extract reverse aging by restoring skin cells leh!!!! YOUTHFUL CELLS. Gimme πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

Houttuynia Cordata Extract - otherwise known as chameleon leaf extract - this has some purifying properties so basically anti-bacterial properties (if I'm not wrong!)

Citrus Junos Fruit Extract - Yuzu seed extract basically. This enhances brighter skin and also apparently promote collagen production??

I instantly IG-story the result cause the immediate calming and brightening effects were very amazing.

My pores were also slightly blurred out and my skin just look freaking good. I saw Carrageenan in it and I wrote about this particular ingredient whilst trying out the Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum cause I believed it broke me out.

But I think cause this is in a mask and I don't use it daily, it didn't seemed to affect my skin at all! So yay!
